In to the woods, the little girl went
Wearing the cape, Grandma sent.
Past the dark trees, and the hollow.
Unaware of what was to follow.
Teeth sharp, and ready to pounce
Waiting for the moment to announce.
Steady lurking behind the green
Never heard and never seen.
Eagerly he waits, in his disguise
For the moment to arise
The girl unaware of the danger
It wasn’t her Gran only a stranger
Fairytales have a way to intertwine
With our reality, is this the design?
The dangers that lurk are all around
Could be a person or a hound.
Beware in the woods tonight.
There’s shadows hidden out of sight.
If you find yourself lost and scared
Raise your voice you can be heard.
