My spark…

You are,
My listening ear,
To help me express,
My deepest fears,
A rock,
I didn’t think existed,
You never judge,
Or mock,
When my dreams set fire,
You bring the rain,
Picking me from the floor,
Handing me hope again,
When my light has faded,
& the days are dark,
When I can no longer see,
You become,
My spark,

K

Okay, so some of your readers have commented on the contents (emotional, etc.), so let me go poetic. I love your ending words (at the end of each sentence); they bear much weight. Any time you’re inclined to add an ampersand or the word “and,” try not doing so and see how it reads without it. Words like a, the, etc. are poetic lightweights. You, fortunately, tend to use them sparingly. Overall, this was a powerful statement poem. Much to be enjoyed!
