Behind closed doors…

Broken glass
Scatters
Across the wall,
Unable to fight
You fall to the floor.
Tears flood
Anger burns,
Pain in the heart
As the stomach churns.
It’s a moment of weakness
Or a moment of madness,
No other would comprehend,
This life of darkness
The smiles you pretend.
It’s a living a hell
The mind becomes a prison,
Which you become its cell.
Standing to your feet
Sucking up the pain,
Of denial & defeat.
It takes a minute
To regain your focus,
You disregard the ache
Of feeling so hopeless.
Exhausted from the fight
You close your eyes,
And tell yourself
“Tomorrow I’ll be alright”

Sounds like a horrific struggle whether with physically real parts like the shattered glass punched, or just an internal battle that is difficult and painful. Yes, tomorrow will be a better way. What can we do but hope! Great job Katrina.
