Paper hearts..

Always thought I was smart
Until you made a home,
Within my heart.
I trusted you
With that sacred place,
But you left me here
With an empty space.
Hope fooled me
Thinking we’d last forever,
Now I’m left with memories
I don’t want to treasure.
Time has passed
And with each day,
My heart began to heal
I’m now okay.
I’ve sewn the pieces
Back together,
It doesn’t look the same
But it feels loads better.
I’ve learnt my lesson
And I’ve felt the strain,
I’ll protect it next time
It won’t happen again.

  2. I’m still in the process of letting my heart heal after years and it’s quite exhausting, to be honest. The random outbursts of anger and regret over my past are taking a toll, but I hope to one day reach the point of being healed.

Built yourself up thicker now I think. No more a heart made solely of paper. Have a great weekend Katrina šŸ™‚
