Your Eyes
Are an island of ice,
Lightening up my soul
Like a magical paradise.
Your heart is an ocean
Waves flow upon love,
Travelling deep with emotion.
Your skin is an heavenly touch
Like silk over cashmere,
Followed by the light you clutch.
Your smell is a divine scent
Breathing in your purity,
Sends my body into torment.
But your mind is dark & troubled
Beyond your image,
I see a life that you’ve struggled.
Let me swim into your ocean
To the deepest darkest corners,
And rescue the man my heart has chosen.

I like the fact that you start out with a summary list of promise and then pop up with the crux, the darkness, that which abducts the human soul, indoctrination or as it sometimes appears to be; “our demons” haunting ready to not only contradict the outward beauty but to frustrate and torment us. Nice job. Keep it up dear.
