They’d laugh & joke
Pull my confidence,
I stayed in silence
As self defense.
They took my voice
Unable to speak,
They made me believe
I was born a freak.
With no self-esteem
I’d hide behind my twin,
I’d drown in the crowd
Whilst she would swim.
But then she left
She couldn’t be my speaker,
I never realised
How much I needed her.
Years have passed
And now I hide in isolation
So others don’t notice
I’m just a broken creation.

Inspiring… From the depths, the darkest places, our true self hides from all their faces, becoming something they’ll never be, becoming someone, they’ll never be.
