An artist was made

I buried him in my mind
The funeral was in my heart,
I grieved & cried every tear
Until there were none.
Of course I did, I missed him
The years moved on as did I,
I had to let him die inside
Just so I could live.
I picked up what remained
Every piece he shattered.
Through all the pain
An artist was made
I sculptured myself into
A better, stronger version
That couldn’t be destroyed
Yet a version of myself
That could love again.

  6. Katrina,
As we get older, there are fewer funerals.
Sometimes we go straight to the crematorium. 🙂
Eventually, there is a group of someones who value our presence.

This one gave me a pathway into my own past relationships.
Very well done. Showing vulnerability makes others vulnerable, too.
    Nice work!

Enjoying not having to go out tonight on a Friday night because I am older. The best thing was when I was out on the street before I stood aside to let a group of younger people through and one of the younger ladies smiled and said a genuine thank you. First time in years. No hidden meanings or motives…. purely human. So many do not get it. I can stop a SWAT unit. Real beauty comes from the genuine act of one human being to another wanting nothing… simply recognizing and continuing to flow with the order of life.
