Accept the flaws

Do you like your face
Do you like your style,
Are you comfortable
With your smile.
Do you get self-conscious
Of your reflection?,
Accept your body
& its imperfections.
Beauty is hidden behind
The doorways of the eyes,
Deep in the soul
Is where love resides,
Photo shopped models
Is what’s shown,
It causes insecurities
You are not alone.
Its our personalities
And our hearts
That uniquely separate
Us apart.

It is so nice to ‘not be alone.’ Even if it sometimes feels this way.

Thank goodness I worry about external appearance much less than when younger. Just occasionally, when feeling vulnerable, it can get under my skin – in more ways than one. Perception poem, Katrina. Thanks for sharing.

Beautifully written, agree with you that beauty is only skin deep.
