Emotions aren’t toys

You created a puppet
Made of strings,
She used to dance
Now she’s unable to sing.
She is a mannequin
Emotionless & still,
She’s only in fashion
When you need a thrill.
She’s a paper aeroplane
Created to play,
With damaged wings
She can’t fly away.
She became a music box
From silence to sound,
Singing on command
She barely spins around.
She used to be free
With no cage in sight,
When you captured her.
You shut out her light.
You became a memory
As she walked out the door,
You could not appreciate
What others would fight for.
